JAMESTOWN, NC. August 3, 2018. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Ronald M. Coiner. He will be greatly missed by his family and many others. Mr. Coiner was born in Virginia to Ernestine and Marvin Coiner.

After completing high school at the age of 15, Ron attended Greenbrier Military School then went on to attend Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he earned a Bachelor Degree of Science in Mining Engineering and a Master of Science degree. Ron moved to Greensboro and worked for IBM until he started his own business, Systems Engineering, Inc. Ron's business thrived under his leadership and is celebrating a 50-year milestone this year (2018). He loved his work and played an active role in its operation up until the time of his death.

He will be deeply missed by his employees. Survivors include his wife, Sherlon Coiner; two daughters, Lynn Barton (Mike) and Paula Payne (Brandon); sons, Robert Brogdon (Suzanne); Ronald Coiner, Jr. (Lee Anne); grandchildren, Matt Barton, Gracey Payne, Alex Coiner, Andrew Coiner and Madison Coiner; Charlie, his dog and best friend who never left his side. Mr. Coiner requested that there be no service. His wishes were for family and friends to gather to celebrate his life at a later time. The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro who attended to Mr. Coiner with special care and compassion. Also a special thanks to Gary Coiner, Mary Anne Mayer, David Holt, and the countless other individuals who assisted the family during the months his health declined.
