Donald Gabbert Obituary
Donald Paul Gabbert, 84, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 in Bridgeport. He was born on June 28, 1941 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Paul Herbert Gabbert and Pearl Blanche Marks Gabbert.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debra Bork Gabbert, whom he married on May 16, 1980.

He is also survived by one son, Doug Gabbert and wife Terri of Parkersburg, and Donna Acree of South Carolina; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Becky Webster of New Hampshire; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike Bork and wife Mary of Clarksburg, John Bork and wife Evelyn of Clarksburg, Patty Jackovitch of Akron, OH and Nancy Harden of Fairmont.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Roxby, Jackie Hyre and Paula Allman; and one grandson Dougie Gabbert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Connie Anderson, David Bork, John Jackovitch and Sue Sernicola.

Donald attended Greenbrier Military School and was a graduate of Lost Creek High School. He worked as a computer analyst for several companies over the years. Upon retirement, he worked as a car salesman for Urse Dodge, Harry Green Chevrolet and Country Club Chrysler.

Known for his easygoing nature and big heart, Donald was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. He had a quiet intelligence, a sweet spirit, and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He had a passion for football, a love for cooking, and never passed up a good game of cards. Whether he was preparing a meal for others or cheering on his favorite team, he brought joy and warmth to every moment. He was good to everyone he met and he was kind, thoughtful, and always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His presence was a gift, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
