Albert Denès Chopey, 80, of Millersville, passed unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born February 11, 1937 in Mount Kisco, NY.

Albert was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He also worked as an electrical engineer and manager for Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 38 years. He graduated from Greenbrier Military School, Case Institute of Technology, and George Washington University. Al was an Elder at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church of Crofton, and highly active in local theater and production, particularly at the Bowie Playhouse.

Above all else a family man, he is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carol Ann (née Davis); children Mary Paquet (and husband Pierre), Ann Wagner (and husband Tod), Susan Sympson (and husband William III), James Chopey (and wife Lisa), and Rose Moore; grandchildren Sara Roberts (and husband Scott), Rose Kinsley (and husband Thomas), Julianne Ward (and husband Richard), Emily Snyder (and husband Gary III), Christopher Sympson (and wife Ysabel), Melissa White, Suzanne Anderson (and husband Alexander), William Sympson IV, Caroline Geoghegan (and husband Brendan), Natalie Sympson, Emerson Moore, and Bailey Moore; great-grandchildren Brayden Roberts, Gary Snyder IV, Carson Roberts, Rylee Roberts, Xavier Anderson and newborn Johnathan Ward. He is predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Alice Chopey, and brother Nicholas Chopey. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, August 3,2017 at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, Crofton, Maryland 21114.

Al's final resting place will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, Maryland 21032.
