My story is about a train ride.
Back in 1957 the cadets were leaving for Christmas vacation. As I lived in Massachusetts, I was taking the train home. My friend who lived in Iron Gate, Virginia, told me that when the train stopped for passengers he would put a case of beer on for me. So, I received the beer and gave it out to all my friends; just keeping one for myself.
When we came back from Christmas vacation, Col. W.J. Moore was looking for the one who had the beer on the train. I told him I was the culprit! I received 200 demerits and was to walk them off marching around the flagpole. This was in January and you know how cold it is then in W.VA. I did not walk all of the 200 hours because I received credit for not getting into more trouble.
That's my short story and guess what --- I would do it again!
